JULIE ROMEIS, EDITOR BRIEF BIO As one of the original staff members of Bloomsbury-USA Children’s Books, Julie Romeis has played an active role in the company’s fivefold growth since its founding in 2001. In the past five years, Julie has edited books for all ages, including Rick Yancey’s The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp, which has been published in eleven countries and optioned for film by Warner Brothers; and Lisa Klein’s Ophelia, a retelling of Hamlet from Ophelia’s point of view. Julie is a popular speaker at conferences sponsored by The Society of Childen’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). She is committed to nurturing and developing new and undiscovered talent.
