PCCWW 2011 Presents TEENSPEAK NOVEL/MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOP Do you willingly fall under the “spell” of good stories? If you love reading, writing, acting, or watching stories unfold, we’ve got a hot winter event for you—an innovative, hands-on retreat for 15 teen readers and writers. At our workshop, you’ll enjoy a smorgasbord of arts and outdoor adventures. You’ll discover how story-crafting elements can be applied to movie making (your breakout group will make a short one, to share!) and visual arts (you’ll create a model theater for a story you’ve written and/or enjoy). You’ll brainstorm on multiple projects, and help critique peer writing. If you aim to publish your writing for a large audience, a successful published novelist and newspaper/magazine journalist will guide you. Exactly what you need to take off! Have you ever wondered what it takes to get a novel published—what your favorite authors must do to get their dream-stories into your hands? Do you often find fictional characters fascinating (at least as irresistible as real ones)? Do you have a story to tell? If you answered YES to any of these questions, our workshop may be perfect for you. We welcome motivated individuals, ages 11 to 19. Our hands-on event fosters creativity and camaraderie among like-minded youth. During this weekend, you’ll dive into story settings, plots, and characters, bringing them “to life” from two great resources—your imagination and experience. Your supporting cast includes:
